23 days until sea turtle nesting season here in Florida

Here in Florida, the official start of sea turtle nesting season begins on March 1st. We are now really busy prepping our gear and working on developing a new data management system for the crew to use in the field.  This new system will allow us to work much more efficiently and will now give us the ability to query and update all data such as flipper , PIT tags and measurements while we are with the turtle.  We have also added quite a bit of automation to the app which will warn the team if rain/lightning or even high tide threatens to make the survey difficult. It is no fun driving an ATV in the rain! Here is just a short preview of  some of the workflow in the app. Oh, and we are also looking for funding to continue this important work!
